THE KINGDOM OF HALFVARDEN is the last independent and democratic country ruled by KING HALFVOR. All neighbouring countries are under dictatorship or military control. The Kingdom’s succession law stipulates that the primo male heir is set to inherit everything, but King’s wife has died, and he still doesn’t have a male heir. The power-hungry PRINCE BARAS from the neighbouring seizes this opportunity and hires a private paramilitary army composed of mercenaries — soldiers, outlaws, vagrants, and rabble. Against this backdrop, TARA’s story unfolds: 13 years old slave girl, who lives among the Bratan mercenaries, who are allied with the current ruler. She knows neither mother nor father — a fact that haunts her often in nightmares, featuring recurring images of a violent abduction of a baby girl by villains. Her strong will leads her through her struggle to freedom, and together with her various companions – good and bad ones – , she succeeds in liberating the country.
