Lampie
LAMPIE (11) the lighthouse keeper’s child finds friendship in a magical world of mermaids and pirates.
LAMPIE (11) is a spirited and imaginative girl who lives with her beloved father Augustus in a lighthouse by the sea. Since her father has a wooden leg, the care of the lighthouse lamp falls on Lampie’s young shoulders. As she has no school, her days are filled with endless daydreams.
One stormy day, Lampie is surprised by a sudden thunderstorm that sweeps her into the raging sea. That night, the lighthouse’s lamp remains dark and a ship crashes onto the rocks. Although she survives, Lampie is blamed for the shipwreck.
To pay off the debt, Lampie is sent to work at Admiral’s House – a haunted mansion known as the “black house” where a monster is rumoured to lurk in the tower room. Despite the gloomy surroundings, Lampie’s good spirit and courage shine through as she befriends the other servants.
Lampie bravely opens the door to the mysterious room, but what she finds there is more magical and beautiful than any monster – a magical world of mermaids and pirates in which she embarks on a quest for freedom and acceptance.
