Laura Was Here
LAURA WAS HERE is the adaptation of a successful theatre musical. The humorous story about family models is for young and old, target audience 5-8 years. In search of the perfect family Laura (6) visits the neighbors in her apartment building. And there she finds a lot to discover.
Laura is the only child of a single mother, a situation she is not at all happy with. Mom constantly needs her peace and quiet, and she avoids conflicts with the grumpy neighbor. After an argument, Laura storms off. She sets out to find herself a ‘real family’, just like the ones in the pizza commercials. Surely they must be everywhere, why not in her own apartment building? Laura rings her neighbors’ doors. So many interesting people, surprising worlds are to discover in this house! Justin, the annoying boy from the second floor, joins her journey and can’t be shaken off. He becomes her ally and then her friend. It’s his idea to assemble a ‘chosen family’, since the perfect one can’t be found in this house. They have a sleepover at the place of their new ‘big sister’ from the third floor, while Mom learns tricks for fending off the grumpy neighbor. At the end of her adventure, Laura celebrates with her big neighbor-patchwork-family a pizza party held right in the front yard.
