Zoyka and the Bird

10-year-old Zoyka notices that her mother is detaching from the ground. While trying to save her, she discovers a mysterious bird inside her and embarks on a journey through the city.

Zoyka (10) is worried, because her mother is walking a few inches above the ground. Every day she stuffs her pockets with stones, to keep her on the ground and adds a talisman, which she got from her estranged dad. But one day, after an evening of disappointments, Zoyka wakes up with a scary bird in her belly and mother gone without the stones. Together with her friend, Mietek, she embarks on a journey through the city – to find and save her from the upcoming windstorms. They escape perils, discover bird-like superpowers and the value of friendship. Meanwhile, not only Zoyka’s mother, but also other people are detaching from the ground and being swept away by the wind, including her grandpa and sisters. Encouraged by a mysterious neighbour – Madina, Zoyka faces her deepest fears and sorrows and in the midst of a fierce windstorm, finds her mother and releases the bird – screaming it out with her unspoken worries. She then flies on its back and saves her realatives and neighbours.
