We are delighted to announce the winner of the Young Horizons Industry award at m:brane forum. The award went to the creators of the Norwegian project “Whatever Happened”.

The title joined previously selected projects “Welcome to Vegetown” (awarded at Animarkt Stop Motion Forum) and “Rainy Days” (awarded at CEEA Forum). All projects will be presented in Warsaw.

“Whatever Happened” awarded at m:brane forum

“Whatever Happened” was chosen and awarded by Zofia Horszczaruk, Head of Young Horizons Industry and Viola Gabrielli, Head of Young Horizons Industry Programme who both took part in the m:brane forum in Malmö.

Thanks to m:brane we had a chance to meet emerging talents and explore their projects. We are happy to see that new voices are given a spotlight. We have chosen the talent project that reflects a new approach in storytelling and hopefully will challenge industry decision makers.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

In an interrogation room, 12-year-old Alvilde recounts an adventure with her classmates Ylva, Jonas, and the bully Lasse. Shortly after getting lost in the forest, the group dynamic shifts as Jonas’ survival skills prove useful, much to Lasse’s frustration. Over the course of three days in the wilderness, Alvilde, and the viewer, are confronted with dilemmas of practical, emotional, and moral nature. What really happened to the group in the forest, and will Alvilde tell the truth?
