Breakaway

Three talented young Danish cyclists chase their dream of standing among the heroes of the cycling world, testing the limits of their talent, friendship and determination as they battle each other - and themselves - on the road to Europe’s biggest youth races.

BREAKAWAY is a series about big dreams, physical challenges, extreme willpower and just the right gear. The three 11-year-old cyclists, Osvald, Bjørn and William, ride for three different cycling clubs in Denmark and compete against each other in road cycling. Cycling is their great passion; they love their bikes, equipment and gear and dream big of a future as professionals. They are friends and know each other well, but when they compete, they become ruthless rivals and give it their all. The series follows their ups and downs through training camps and cycling races across the Danish countryside, as they prepare for the season’s major events: Tour de Himmelfart, Europe’s largest stage race for children and youth, and the Danish Championships. Do Bjørn, Osvald and William have what it takes to reach the top? And will their friendship survive a cycling season where they are constantly battling for the same places on the podium?
