Children war refugees are like astronauts who’re landing and must survive in a new planet.

This is a film about twin sisters, and other early teenagers who lost their homes and friends as a result of the Russian war in Ukraine. With stories collected by one of those twins, a student dreaming of becoming a journalist—a youth herself who as a 12-year-old child, together with her sister and family, fled into the unknown, moving to Poland. We have been observing their story for ten years, after which the history of the war in Ukraine unexpectedly caught with her and her family in Poland. Emilia and her twin sister in an instant lost the world they grew up in. At the age of 12 they are thus thrust into the unknown, forced to begin a new life in the small Polish town. Their story is intertwined with contemporary scenes of 10 to 14-year-old refugees from Ukraine article protagonists. Within these children Emilia finds the very truths from which she and her sister fled. And as she grows closer we discover how much Emilia has herself changed. But Vlada’s path is hardly the same.
