Swornegacie

Several families from different parts of Poland come to a picturesque camping site in Swornegacie – among lakes, forests and Kashubian legends. The place – ideal, but from the first moments you can see that people do not get along.
The comedy-drama ‘Swornegacie’ takes place in a Kashubian campsite, surrounded by a lake and a forest, where various people – families, couples, singles – arrive in search of peace and quiet. In this seemingly peaceful place, relationships begin to form, quickly revealing deeply hidden emotions and conflicts. Some fall in love, others begin to hate each other. The adults struggle with their inability to communicate, while the children, left to their own devices, build their own independent world. The camera follows the characters discreetly, recording their daily lives, gestures, understatements and silent dramas. The film shows how nature and isolation can bring out the hidden.
Director’s note: ‘Swornegacie’ is based on improvisation, with the participation of improvising actors, it is created without a classic script – only on the basis of an outline of relationships and emotions: handheld camera, natural light, raw form. Using my experience as an actor, I want to give the actors as much space as possible, while keeping an eye on the whole process. The campsite also becomes a character, a reflection of the world, a place where nature reflects the inner states of the characters. The aim of the film is emotional truth and authenticity.
