Rise of the Water Fox

Agnes (12) is struggling with turbulent emotions after her grandfather’s death. Sent to volunteer at a retirement home, her journey unfolds as she searches for inner balance and acceptance.
Agnes (12) wakes up yelling from a nightmare. It has been three months since her grandfather Pompilio died, and since then, she has struggled to connect with the things she used to enjoy. After getting into a fistfight with a classmate, Agnes’ parents, Patricia and Toomas, send her to volunteer at a community home for the elderly. There, she meets and befriends Harriet a new mysterious resident and a 34th generation Viking who dreams of escaping to Iceland. Agnes promises to help Harriet reach Iceland, and in return, Harriet offers to help Agnes manage her anxiety attacks, something that has troubled her since losing her grandfather, and introduces her to the world of martial arts. But what Agnes doesn’t know is that her Sensei has been hiding the truth about her condition: she only has a few months left to live, and her planned trip to Iceland is a one-way journey to Valhalla. Faced with yet another impending loss, Agnes will have to put all her newly gained knowledge into practice.
