Kindergarten. In the midst of princesses and hunters, 5 year old Anne wants to be a lion. Loud and strong. But her constant roaring is disturbing the princess’ world. So the lion is cast out, hunted and shot. The lion is dead. Anne wants to live. She realizes there is only one way…

5-year-old ANNE discovers that the roar of lions can be heard 8 kilometers away. And a lion she wants to be. With her best friend MOMO, she practices the lion roar. If you are that loud, you will never get lost. Her proud father JASCHAR makes a fantastic lion costume with her, while her mom, intensive care doctor JULE, works a double shift at the clinic. Anne practises roaring. And roars. At home. In the stairwell. On the street. In kindergarten. Until the neighborhood revolts and the overworked kindergarten teacher can’t take it anymore. “But all girls want to be princesses!” is the sentence with which she finally tries to silence Anne. And indeed: in the kindergarten courtyard all the girls are giggling princesses. All the boys, including Momo, are hunter-boys. Only Anne, the loud lion, has no place in it. She is cast out, hunted and shot. By Momo, of all people. The lion is dead. Anne wants to live. There is only one way to be alive: to become a princess. To be like everyone else.
