“Headrush” is a fast-paced comedy-drama that dives into the chaos of Finn as he navigates a mental health diagnosis with falling in love for the first time. Desperate to hide his dark side from the world, Finn fakes the perfect version of himself. But when keeping his lies together begins to break his world apart, the fallout is bigger than Finn could have ever imagined. Sharp, funny and painfully authentic, “Headrush” explores the high-stakes cost of hiding your true self and the power that comes from showing-up as you.

The charismatic FINN (17) gets released from a psychiatric hospital following a suicide attempt. In this light, he should be focusing on himself. But when he meets the charming ISSY on the bus home, he falls in love. With FINN’s bestie, ESME, believing that ISSY is just a perfect distraction from his troubles, FINN sets out to prove her wrong. However, he is terrified of ISSY finding out about his sectioning. So, despite ESME’s advice, FINN continues to conceal his bipolar diagnosis. When the boys finally declare their love, FINN’s ex RYAN cruelly exposes the truth about him. FINN knows that ISSY couldn’t love him now. He hits the self-destruct button and loses his virginity to an OLDER MAN. ISSY finds FINN in a bad place, when he declares that they can work through it together. Under one condition: FINN must be honest. Several intertwining stories all combine with FINN’s experience in a shocking finalé where the theme of ‘honesty’ is landed in an unexpected but uniquely hopeful way.
