Young Horizons Industry 2026. Meet our selection committee!

We are delighted to present the members of the Young Horizons Industry 2026 selection committee, who are also the first confirmed guests of the forum (28–30.09.2026).

6 international experts will dive into the submissions and recommend 19 projects* that will be invited to Warsaw to take part in the pitching during the Young Horizons Industry forum.

*In total, 20 projects will be presented during pitching sessions. The first project, “Pony, Pony”, was selected during the m:brane forum thanks to our cooperation with m:brane.

Simon Crowe, SC Films International

Simon Crowe is a film sales veteran with a wealth of international knowledge on sales, production, finance, and distribution. Having started at Majestic Films (“Dances With Wolves”, “Driving Miss Daisy”, “Henry V”), he joined Mel Gibson’s Icon Entertainment International (“What Women Want”, “Spice Girls – The Movie”, “Passion of the Christ”), before establishing SC Films International in London in 2008. SC Films specialises in theatrical family animation and genre movies. Films include: “Marmaduke”, “Charming”, “Gnome Alone”, “White Fang”, and “Dragonkeeper”. Simon is currently producing an animation feature “Girl in the Clouds” and live-action horrors “Ritual Room” and “Melati – Revenge in Blood”.

Marjolijn Janknegt, In the Air

Film is in Marjolijn’s DNA. For over 35 years, she has been involved in developing, buying, and selling films and series for various distributors and broadcasters. Marjolijn strengthens the In The Air team with her years of knowledge and network on both the buying and selling sides. She is responsible for the digital and TV exploitation of the catalogue and is always on the lookout for wonderful new products. She strives for partnerships and intensive collaboration with all parties.

Michał Broniszewski, Galapagos Films

Michał is Head of Distribution and Sales at Galapagos Films, a distribution company that has been bringing foreign and domestic films to the Polish market since 2019.

He regularly collaborates with all major VOD platforms, television stations, and cinema operators in Poland and abroad. His responsibilities include the acquisition and sales of licensing rights for film projects. He is the creative producer of “Lampo. The Travelling Dog” (the film was presented at the Young Horizons Industry) as well as the upcoming projects “Flawless” and “Tomasz Niefart.” He is also an associate producer on the film “Chopin, Chopin!”.

Previously, he was Head of Distribution at Akson Dystrybucja. He also worked at Next-Film. From 2006 to 2013, he managed a five-screen cinema in Tychy.

Selection committee – SERIES AND TV SPECIALS

Łukasz Osiecki, TVP 

Łukasz has been working at the Polish public television for over thirteen years. He has been associated with TVP ABC, a channel dedicated to the youngest viewers, since its inception in 2014, initially as an editor and manager of online project development. He then spent nearly three years as Head of the Editorial Department, responsible for producing and programming the children’s channels TVP ABC and TVP ABC 2, the youth channel Alfa TVP, and the mobile app with the VOD service “Kraina ABC”. He is currently working as Senior Editor at the TVP Programming Office in the department responsible for programming content for children and adolescents. He has always been interested in creating and developing safe, valuable, and high-quality children’s projects.

Shabnam Rezaei, Big Bad Boo Studios

Shabnam founded Big Bad Boo Studios to produce and distribute quality family programming. She has produced and directed Hulu Original Series “The Bravest Knight” (Hulu/CBC), winner of a 2020 GLAAD Award, with two additional nominations in 2025 and 2026. She is currently nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction, Animation, for season 2. Shabnam has also created and directed original shows, such as “16 Hudson” (Amazon Prime/TVOKids), a climate change series “Galapagos X” (TVOKids, Knowledge Kids, Radio-Canada, Mediacorp), a mini-series “Lili & Lola” (Oznoz/ICI TV), and a musical series “ABC with Kenny G” (TVOKids, Radio-Canada).

Shabnam started her career producing the series “Mixed Nutz”, and her first creation was “1001 Nights”, currently airing in 80 countries on Disney, Teletoon, Discovery Kids, Gloob Brazil, RTBF Belgium, and MTV3 Finland.

Mirko Goran Marijanac, DeAPlaneta Entertainment 

With a strong legal background and three years’ experience in law firms, Mirko is now closely working with internationally renowned audiovisual and animation professionals. For several years, he has been involved in the distribution of children’s content, research of new IPs, and contract negotiations (with broadcasters, VOD platforms, production and localisation studios). He represents DeAPlaneta Kids & Family at the most important markets and events in the industry.
