On 24 October in Kinoteka, in Warsaw, the Young Horizons Lab 2024/2025, script development workshop kicked off. To start this edition we organised an open masterclass with Henrik Engström, a co-writer of the “JerryMaya Detective Agency”.

“Write for the children! Don’t mind the parents!”

Our guest shared his experience on the process of working on the scripts for the internationally acclaimed series about young detectives and how is it to work on the story together with another scriptwriter. We talked about the challenges which are waiting for screenwriters working on the adaptations and well as discussed the importance of having a crisis during writing the scripts and what it can teach us.

After the masterclass the moved from the cinema room to the lecturer room to dive into four projects which for the next few months will be developed under the guidance of Philip LaZebnik, the tutor of the Young Horizons Lab workshops.
