The Ecstasy

Divine revelation turns a reject into a local celebrity. After an unexpected diagnosis, the star fights for her freedom of choice. If she makes the wrong decision her light will go out.
Magda dreams beyond her small-town life, supported only by her boyfriend, Samuel, as she aspires to become a singer. Her unusually low voice garners only pity until a humiliating church choir audition leads to a Marian revelation. Suddenly, she’s a local celebrity, balancing the sacred and profane, unsure if she’s Madonna of MTV or of the church. Fame blinds her, but a brain tumor diagnosis—possibly causing her visions—throws her world into turmoil. Her grandmother forbids her from revealing the truth, leaving Magda isolated. As her relationships and sanity unravel, she fights to reclaim her autonomy, ultimately breaking free from her town’s expectations.
