The Book of Shadows
Lucas is only 9 years old and has no plans to become a wizard, let alone save his city from the Inquisitor. But there is no choice when the Book of Shadows chooses its owner…
Superstitious Middle Ages. Celeste. The powerful Inquisitor keeps the whole town in fear. Lucas, a 9-year-old boy, like the rest of the townspeople, lives in fear. He does not even suspect that the Book of Shadows will choose him to be the next wizard of the city and he will have to save it. But first, Lucas needs to get back his naughty Shadow, who has been kidnapped by strange shadows. There is no other choice. If Lucas doesn’t get his Shadow back by morning, he will die… So the scared boy leaves his depressed town for the first time and sets off on a dangerous journey. The Middle Ages are replaced by the Present, and old houses are replaced by skyscrapers. Lucas finds himself in the Shadow Hub, a technological place where shadows live. The boy is amazed! Is magic really just incomprehensible technology? In the end, Lucas not only regains the Shadow, expels the Inquisitor from the city, but also gives the townspeople ideas of technological progress.
