My Happy Family

An 11-year-old boy secretly sets out to make a movie by capturing rare moments of joy in his abusive family as part of a school project to impress the girl he loves.
Eleven-year-old Azat joins a short film production class to be near his crush, Demet. His mother, Beren, a struggling single parent who funds his private schooling, disapproves of the class, seeing it as frivolous. Driven by jealousy as another classmate, Nejat, gets closer to Demet, Azat forges Beren’s signature to enroll. Tasked with filming happy family moments, Azat struggles due to their strained relationship and enlists the help of his grandfather, Bahadır. However, Bahadır’s hospitalization due to leukemia complicates matters. Desperate, Azat convinces his estranged aunt Melike to assist, inadvertently escalating family conflicts. Throughout his filmmaking journey, Azat uncovers and confronts his family’s turbulent history. Ultimately, amid escalating tensions, he exposes the abuse he endures through his film.
