Rose lives in a tiny mountain village where roads are muddy, grandmothers rule with wooden spoons, and boys always get the last piece of bread. Her father, a schizophrenic, is surprisingly knowledgeable about literature and cinema, though most days he argues with kids or his wife. Her mother, Happiness, is illiterate and hardworking. Rose dreams of playing football like Messi and becoming a police officer to stop her uncle from ruining lives. She draws her dreams on walls, kicks a ball in the goat yard, and rebels against her grandmother’s outdated rules with sarcasm and silent protest. When a filmmaker visits, a quiet revolution begins: they connect Rose with a female football trainer, find volunteers to help her study for university, and try to bring internet to a village where even rain shuts everything down. Rose navigates grief, absurdity, and sibling mischief—always with a smirk, sometimes with a slingshot.
