FOCUS ON DOCS. Case studies: DOCS FOR A YOUNG AUDIENCE – Towards More Visibility

This session is part of a ‘Focus on Docs’ section organized by Young Horizons Industry in partnership with Andrzej Wajda Centre for Film Culture. The session will highlight two case studies, followed by round tables with international experts.

Case studies: One of the case studies will be the Dutch film “Shabu” – a movie directed by Shamira Raphaëla that has been screened at multiple festivals and already won awards at IDFA, Berlinale, CPH:Docs, Hot Docs to name a few. The fact that it has gained recognition among audiences is a great example that there is a need for more documentary projects for young viewers. During the second case study we will focus on TV series and shorts.

Round tables: After the case study session, international industry stakeholders and professionals, in a safe space of two round tables, will share and analyse the pressing question of how to create more buzz for non-fictional films for young audiences, discuss strategies that have already worked, using the examples of the various case studies, and come up with new creative concepts.

'Focus on Docs' sessions are open to all the accreditation holders.
